Leakage detector

Postby eivind_aarseth » Thu May 26, 2005 4:21 am

One of my clients here in Norway got problem with the pressure sensor in their unit. When I received it here for further examination/repair I discovered there was moisture (drops of water inside the unit). The electronics where not damaged but what caused the leakage? I suspected the pressure sensor. I therefore drilled a hole in an old scratched acrylic dome and attached a thin hose (of the type used for an aquarium airpump). Then soaked the unit in water and used a large syringe to as airpump for very carefully put some pressure inside the unit. I then located the leakage (inside the pressure sensor) quickly and could replace the damaged part.
