10 years and more than 300 assignments with VideoRays
Henning Føsker, Consulting Engineer, Norconsult
http://www.norconsult.com

Since 2001 Norconsult has operated VideoRays in more than 150 hydropower plants and dams, primarily in Norway but also in several other countries throughout the world. During more than 300 assignments, VideoRays have been used for inspection and survey of hydropower plant components such as gates, intakes, dams, tunnels and turbines. The presentation covers visual inspections, sonar survey and measurements and navigation under difficult conditions like current, turbulence, low visibility and confined spaces. Norconsult uses a wide range of accessories such as sonars including tiltable sonar, Lyyn, laser scale, gripper and acoustic positioning system. Many of the inspection techniques were pioneered by the author, including unique VideoRay modifications. Our experience covers several VideoRay models and mostly successful missions, but also examples of mishaps and total losses.
