News and Boat donation

Postby gleason » Tue Jun 15, 2010 11:49 am

My museum just got a small boat donated to be used for ROV and side scan sonar searches. We are interested in suggestions as to what gear we should put on board. Any ideas?

Also here is a recent article on our programs.

Mark,

Great news on your new boat!

I would suggest you consult Steve Van Meter, who probably has more experience operating ROV's and side scan sonars out of small boats than almost anyone on the planet.

Good suggestion on Steve. Yes I bet you are right that he has more experience plus I bet he will have some suggestions. Our boat is hjust a bit longer and has an inboard and small cabin. Lots of possibilities since it will only be set up and used for ROV exploration and activities. Too small to take school groups out.

Mark,

I'm sure there are other VideoRay ROV owners out-there with useful input, who have customized their boats for ROV exploration.
